The time came to hop on board the Texas Outdoor Lifestyles Majek boat! First of all let me tell you that this dynamic pair is super humble and kind. We had a great adventure to say the least. We fished the whole day after they asked us if we had anywhere to be. Since we didn’t and our plans were to unwind, we did exactly that. Ruben showed us a few but not all of his tricks. He said his plan was to target redfish. It was extremely shallow in some of the areas he normally hits up over in South Padre Island.
Ok, I was not going to share that we got a little stuck but we did. The interesting part of that story is that after we managed to get out of the shallow area, Ruben rode off into another area but decides to go back directly into the area where we got stuck. He said, ” When the horse knocks you off, you gotta get back on!”. Well, we got back on the horse and landed ourselves some really nice and good size reds! This isn’t Ruben’s first rodeo so I encourage you to be safe and know the tides and your areas to be safe.
If you are wondering whether we used lures or bait well you can comment and guess at what we used. The day was windy but not that bad. We stayed the entire time in the South Padre Island Bay Area. The weather was pleasant and not sunny at all. Remember, you will still get sunburned without sun! I forgot my facemask/buff so I paid the piper later in the evening.
