Logan Clayborn shares his fishing adventure with us. Here it is!
My first fishing experience was awesome. This was my first time on a boat, and I had never gone fishing in Port Mansfield. One of my mom’s friends invited us to go fishing, and I immediately told my mom to say yes. Prior to this trip, I had only gone fishing in the canal right by my house, so to say I was ecstatic is an understatement.
When we got there, I met Noah and his dad, Fernando. Then they took me out to one spot, but our hooks kept getting seaweed caught on them, so we moved on to the second spot, and that is where I caught my first fish.
It was a keeper, a redfish. When I hooked it, Noah was still reeling the lure. When I got the fish close enough, it got tangled in Noah’s line, and the Line went all around the boat. Once I finally got it into the boat, I was so excited; this was the biggest fish I had ever caught at 22 1/2 inches.
Once we got back, Noah’s dad took us to fillet the fish, and we fed the scraps to the pelicans. When we got home, I was able l to eat the fish.
Noah suggested I try the throat, so I did it, and it was the best part. All in all, this was one of the best days I’ve ever had. I’ve always had a passion for fishing. I’ve read countless articles and watched videos, but nothing compares to the real thing.
