That is a question that comes to mind, when will we not have to worry about someone coming into a place of worship and kill people. Out of anger? What could drive someone to commit such a horrendous act? That may be a question for later or for the professionals in the field to answer accordingly.
You get ready to go to church as you normally do every week or as many times as you normally go, get your family dressed and ready to hit the road, but wait you forgot your gun! Just as if you forgot your wallet or your cell phone but your gun? In the year 2020 it may very well be like that. I can tell you that it affects and interferes with my thoughts as Im preparing for church. You are on the way to give thanks, to pray for the church and loved ones, to pray for peace! But now you have to worry about someone full of rage coming into the church and open fire on innocent people.
There is no doubt we live in different times than before. I remember going to Reynosa, Tamaulipas in Mexico where I grew up and playing soccer on the sidewalks eating tacos off the street without a worry in the world. Those days are gone due to the drug and kidnapping wars. I would never think those days would come when you talk about church. I mean its Gods house! Many of us have opted into getting a concealed carry license for a weapon. I believe the time has arrived where we must protect our church from evil. Because that is exactly what it is, evil.
We would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family who lost their loved ones in the current shooting at a White Settlement, TX church and to all those victims in the past who have been killed in a church. I would also like to pray for those in need of help. Those that don’t know where to turn to and let them know there is a better way than to act on such a horrible act.
