Progresso, Prog, Mex, Las Flores and many more names are given to this tourist location. How many of you visit this fun location in Mexico? What is your favorite part of it? Food is good in some places that I have tried such as Rene’s Restaurant. The tacos Veracruzanos are my favorite. At Rene’s, they start you off with freshly made nachos!
Elotes
For corn in a cup, we tried Rey del Elote (King Of Corn). Although a little spicy it was actually really good. You can always tell them to go easy on the sauce.
Atmosphere
It definitely sets the Mexican atmosphere. As you walk the sidewalks in Progresso, you will hear music and people enjoying the afternoon. Expect large crowds in the weekends. Beer is about 2.00 American dollars. The food stand are pretty good as well. You will find a variety of stands selling everything from jewelry to sunglasses.
People like to go to Progresso to fill up on medicines as well. Dentists are popular as well but I personally have not tried my teeth there.
Parking
Arturo’s restaurant is a good option for parking. The parking is enclosed with a guard on site. You may also park along the sidewalks that stretches along the streets of Las Flores.
Dancing
For dancing you can look for Galerias. They have a live band on certain days. A few other bars like Pancho’s has a 2 man band and some DJs as well.
Progresso is a good stress reliever. You can go have a drink, eat, and enjoy the atmosphere. You can also get a good pedicure with one of many beauty salons available.
