The 1st Annual Pesca Tournament by Rancho Pisto Pesca (RPP Outdoors) is well on the way. Having thought about breaking into the tournament world has been on our mind a bit over a year and come next Saturday God willing it will become a reality.
Over talks with several people in the fishing industry conservation is a big topic now a days. If you are into tournaments you probably know there is a plethora of tournaments year round and especially during the summer. Therefor we have implemented our rules to help encourage conservation.
We took a good while looking into a place at South Padre Island, TX and decided that Lobo Del Mar Restaurant Bar was our best choice for our 1st annual. The people and staff at Lobo Del Mar are very kind and make sure you have a great experience while you are there.
The tournament will take place Saturday February 29th, 2020 with a Captains meeting on Friday February 28th the day before to go over any last minute details. We will be broadcasting the meeting live on all our channels including Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube Live. Any questions can be directed to our number at 956-513-0373. There will be a first and second place division for Red Fish and Trout Fish with a Grand Champion prize as well for the team that submits Red Fish, Trout Fish, and Flounder. All three must be weighed in before 3pm.
Fishing will start Saturday from 6:30am to 3p with the weigh in being from 12-3pm.
A kayak division is also a part of the tournament. It will be nice to recognize our local kayak anglers and get to meet some as well.
Fees for the tournament are as follows. For kayak the fee is 50.00 to enter with an optional side pot entry of 25.00
For boat entries the fee will be 300.00 with an optional side pot entry of 50.00 for Red Fish and Trout. Teams can consist of up to 4 people total. Fishing guides are allowed to fish as well at no extra cost and up to the discretion of the team on whether or a guide is part of team. No spectators are allowed or more than 4 people per boat entry.
Boats and kayaks are allowed to launch from their desired destination. Please keep in mind that fishing does not start until 6:30a.m. Tournament personnel may determine if a team is suspected of cheating and imply a lie detector test.
