On this edition of Get To Know we get the opportunity to chat with Marisol on some interesting topics like food, family, vacation destinations and more! We often see people post pictures of their catch or their harvest at the ranch but we like do dig deeper by asking what goes on outside the outdoors.
Marisol shares some hot tips on how to catch flounder so make sure you read until the end or catch the video on our link to Youtube Get To Know: Marisol De La Garza.
San Juan, TX is what Marisol calls home. She is blessed with 2 children her son and a daughter whom also goes on adventures with her she says laughing.
“My dad is the person that started showing me about fishing. He would take us to the jetties or to the fishing pier. He would take me hunting as well so I would say my dad showed us the love for the outdoors”.
Flounder fishing has its tricks. Can you tell us a little about it? “It takes patience, way more patience than fishing for redfish and trout.” says Marisol. Being involved in the community is one of Marisol’s biggest things. She is currently involved and a board member of CCA Coastal Conservation Association and just recently was voted in to the state level of the board of the CCA! Along that she is also a part of the special needs olympics in the PSJA region. Good job Marisol!
We notice that you often thank God on your journeys and posts after fishing or hunting, does this play a big role in your life? ” There are two verses that come to mind from the bible. “Everything good comes from God” and “In everything we give thanks for this is the will of God.”
“Whataburger is my favorite food of choice, who doesn’t love Whataburger?” says Marisol. She mentioned to us that she enjoys horseback riding as well. Her favorite dessert comes from the cheesecake factory.
Outside of hunting and fishing Marisol likes to travel. She has visited Italy which is her favorite destination at the moment. A place she wants to visit is Egypt and Washington DC. She plans to do this as soon as things get back to normal she says. We all hope and wish that times can go back to the way they were.
Bucket List! She does have a bucket list she says. 10 items are on there. She plans to complete them and start another 10!
The best times in her life was when she would travel and get together with all her family.
